I want to go back....
To gas stations - where the "Man with the Star" comes out and ask what you need, then fills up your tank, and gives you a glass for coming in - instead of computerized pumps that you have to "punch in" account numbers, and your mother's age, along with the number of inches in your shoe size, while at the same time standing on one foot, and reciting the Gettysburg Address, just to get the damn thing to work, which it does - sometimes.
Service departments that care about the customer and who are actually "Accountable" to do their job - instead of 19 year old "Managers," hiding in cyberspace, who take 48 minutes to come on line, after all the computer enhanced voices try to get you to talk to them.
To baseball players who drink and smoke but don't inject steroids and god knows what else in their super muscled and "punctured" bodies.
To baseball players who play the game mostly because they appreciate the opportunity to play a child's game while getting well paid for it - instead of business ceo's too busy on the phone, talking to their accountants, to sign autographs for kids.
To baseball players who after hitting a home run – “run the bases” instead – “of standing at the plate admiring their hit”.
To baseball pitchers who deserve to be in the Major Leagues instead - of minor league caliber pitchers serving up gopher balls to 120 lb shortstops - hitting 50 homers a year.
To automobiles that have a carburetor you can "adjust," and spark plugs that can be changed out in less than a day, "and" - without removing a fender.
To television where there are only 3 channels, but with better programs than the 488 we have today, and without the "filth."
To schools where kids mind the teachers, and parents discipline the kids if they don't.
To the Pledge of Allegiance, with "under god" in it.
To Presidents of the United States who served in the armed forces - instead of hiding out overseas or in the National Guard during wartime.
To Presidents of the United States who know how to salute.
To golfers who have to use every club in the bag, and who are great, because of shot making, instead of smashing it 400 yards and then chipping on the green.
