Ice on the Windshield

Blogs Under the Radar for Some Reason

While I'm not a "A-1 Blog Stalker", like, uh, eh, uh, "A-1 Blog Stalker"...I do think I recognize "funny" and "different" and "hair raising" ---------when I see it.

So.......if you've not checked out the "writing" of

"THE MISANTHROPE'S CORNER".... you should take a minute and read his

last post. I am still rolling in the floor laughing as I try to type

this. Try him on for size, you might not like his politics

"FAR RIGHT CONSERVATIVE" -------or certain other things about him,

but I'll promise you this.... there is nobody else like him on this

blogstream.

 One (poem) I did write

the clink of wind chimes
drift into the room
with memories of the times
and dreams still to come

ole man sleep comes needlessly
in this life’s text
swirling around endlessly
a jumble in a gray vortex

thoughts of and for
fairy tales that were not true
truth as told by Arlo
if you ever listened to his blues

the cold outside; chimes
at bay for now
like the times
don't you know

keep you head up, ace
a smile in your heart
if not on your face
it’s a brand new start

 debunkem interview stalled

dateline, "The New Residencia". Word has been received here that the up and coming exclusive interveiw of Mr. D.Bunkem has been temporarily stalled due to Hurricane Velma, currently somewhere in the Atlantic. It appears that the hurricane known as "Velma" is causing a disruption in the "time tunnel", Debunks prime route of travel, and he is "hold up" at Winchester Cathedral" waiting for it to subside, so that he can return to the 19th Century and meet up with C. Hump. An alternative solution to this problem is being considered as we go to press, and that is - "to transport C. Hump to our present time", since the capacity of the "time tunnel" to work in reverse is available. We are presently negotiating with Mr. Debunkem on the "fee" that he is going to charge us to transport C. Hump. Stay tune and "keep buying this rag". P.S. THIS JUST IN !!  Poems I wish I had wrote

I saw him once before,
As he passed by the door,
And again
The pavement stones resound,
As he totters o'er the ground
With his cane.

They say that in his prime,
Ere the pruning-knife of Time
Cut him down,
Not a better man was found
By the Crier on his round
Through the town.

But now he walks the streets,
And he looks at all he meets
Sad and wan,
And he shakes his feeble head,
That it seems as if he said,
"They are gone!"

The mossy marbles rest
On the lips that he has prest
In their bloom,
And the names he loved to hear
Have been carved for many a year
On the tomb.

My grandmamma has said--
Poor old lady, she is dead
Long ago--
That he had a Roman nose,
And his cheek was like a rose
In the snow;

But now his nose is thin,
And it rests upon his chin
Like a staff,
And a crook is in his back,
And a melancholy crack
In his laugh.

I know it is a sin
For me to sit and grin
At him here;
But the old three-cornered hat,
And the breeches, and all that,
Are so queer!

And if I should live to be
The last leaf upon the tree
In the spring,
Let them smile, as I do now,
At the old forsaken bough
Where I cling.

"The Last Leaf"
