Thought for the day: The third leading cause of death, after cancer and heart disease is medical treatment. Not that hard to believe is it?

>Virgin Flies biofueled Jet from London

A report out of London has confirmed the speculation that, indeed, a ‘virgin’ was at the controls of a Jet out of London that landed at JFK International Airport earlier this morning.  Speculation – by 3 off-duty air controllers, 7 to be named later officials from the Performa Illinois City Council, and 12 unconfirmed administration figures - that the pilot was a virgin, was fueled by the fact that the plane overshot the runway and landed on 33rd and 3rd street, coming to a stop in front of “Rachel’s Reversible Dress Shop.”

Is this you?

seems to me I’ve spent a long time

scheming with great insight,

trying hard to figure out

how to get

where I’ve been all along

>Man clings to girlfriend’s truck during fight; then dog steals it

Police said Charlene McFiddlitity parked her pickup in front of a mini-mart Wednesday, leaving her 80-pound Boxer named Max in the passenger seat.  When she came out, both the truck and Max were gone.  McFiddlitity called Police, assuming the truck had been stolen.  During the time between calling the Police and their actual arrival, McFiddlitity’s boyfriend, Leroy, arrived and demanded the whereabouts of the pickup, which in actuality was his.  By the time the police arrived, there was no sign of truck, dog, woman, or man.  However, Security Video shown Thursday on KFUK-TV showcases the truck, with Jonathan Winters at the wheel, rolling west on Route-66.  On top of the truck a lone figure can barely be made out, clinging to the top of the speeding vehicle, while inside, Mr. Winters can be seen conversing with Charlene, who is in the passenger seat.  She is reading a book that appears to be - ‘A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose,’ which is the latest ‘hot’ book being pushed by Oprah. You can dial into this ‘craze,’ yourself - by going to Pup’s new blog – “A New Earth: Discussion Group.

Disclaimer:

By no means am I making ‘light’ of ‘Pup’s Discussion Group; on the contrary – I’ve been reading the book mentioned above, and it has snagged my interest, and caused me to look fwd to the coming … discussion.

Tomorrow:

In the morning we are headed for the ‘big city’ for another  ‘whirl-wind’ 500-mile overnight journey.  Upon our return to the Ponderosa, we are taking a few days off to travel to the ‘boats;’ blessed oasis in the middle of a desert of ‘all work and no play.’

The Window on the Wall

While thinking all this over, from inside my mind, it occurs to me that time is ‘free-falling’ past the window on the wall.  It’s a normal looking wall, I can see where it was once painted red, and although it is now a light shade of pink, I’m wondering if it’s that way on purpose, or is it just the red – fading?  Kind of like – life you know; is life the way it’s supposed to be, or is it just – fading from view as we admire it from afar?  Even from this distance I can see through the window, and what I see on the other side is distinct, and clear, because even though there is much going on – on the other side – it’s not all that complicated – you know.

p.s. if anyone sees a boxer that answers to the name of "Max" please call Mrs. Robinson as soon as possible.

Your blog really humors me Ice.
You have the gift of originality.
Taylor referred me to Pup's discussion group and I have bought the book at wally world tonight.

"The third leading cause of death, after cancer and heart disease is medical treatment." So really, if you don't have cancer or heart disease, what you do have may likely kill ya one way or another...interesting.

whisper - thanks for the comment and I'm sure Pup will be glad to have you in the discussion. As to the 'quote' about the 3rd leading cause of death after cancer and heart disease.... are you sure you are reading that correctly?

The way I read it is as follows = "if you don't have cancer or heart disease "and" can stay "far away" from "medical treatment," (the 3rd leading cause of death) - you have a chance of living a long natural life.

Your thought for today is painfully accurate. Both of my parents died from complications caused by hospital acquired MRSA. Yep, the third leading cause of death.

Sherry - sorry to hear about your parents. Although he didn't lose his life (some say he really did) my uncle has been paralyzed for 8 years due to a 'botched' surgery. Sadly, our "medical" people are still mounted on pedestals, and seemingly beyond reproach.

Ice!

I think you are referring to what Daisy called the Spiral Path:

seems to me I’ve spent a long time
scheming with great insight,
trying hard to figure out
how to get
where I’ve been all along

As for the girlfriend, the man, the dog and the truck ...
Better the passenger be reading than the driver!

I'm looking forward to the discussion at Pup's too!

Huggggggggggggggggggz,
Taylor

taylor -- 'Daisey and the Spiral Path,' I (of course) always knew that was the name of her blog but as to an explanation of the accompanying phrase - I've never heard before. Maybe you could elaborate on it, yes?

thanks for your comment and of course it's better the passenger was reading than the driver, but, sadly, we all witness 'drivers' in the real world doing crap like reading, fixing hair, brushing teeth and god help us all - texting!

hope you are having a good weekend and me and the pupster are looking forward to the book discussion which is fast approaching.
